Questions
What is an ATS?
An applicant tracking system is the software most companies use to collect applications. It pulls the text out of your resume, files it into fields (name, experience, education, skills) and lets recruiters search it by keyword. If it can’t read your resume, a person may never see it.
Is this ATS checker really free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up and no limit. The checks run in your browser, so they cost us nothing and your resume is never uploaded to a server.
How does the keyword match work?
It picks the most important skills and terms from the job ad (tools, technologies, repeated phrases) and looks for each one in your resume, allowing for plurals and common short forms like JS for JavaScript. Add the missing ones you genuinely have, in your own words.
Why don’t you show an ATS score?
There’s no single ATS score: every system and recruiter is different, and tools that show one make it up. We show the specific problems instead (unreadable text, missing headings or contact details, missing keywords), which are what actually get resumes filtered out.
Which file should I upload?
The PDF or DOCX you actually send to employers, so you see exactly what the ATS gets. Scanned or image-only PDFs can’t be read by an ATS at all, and the checker will tell you.
